Checking Flight Status In Periods of Extreme Weather Is A “Must Do”
6 February 2007Today in the Northeast and Midwest there is bitter cold made even worse with wind. A number of cities have heavy snow and ice. Last summer I was stranded for 8 hours in Chicago. It was a nice day so I left my client, drove to O’Hare, dropped off the rental car and proceeded to the gate oblivious to weather patterns affecting certain inbound and outbound lanes. Had I checked I could have avoided that difficult situation by staying an extra day or rerouting my trip from Midway.
Then the weather was warm and for the most part the facilities were bearable. Now imagine when there is sub-freezing temperatures with heavy snow. Do you think you are the only one having difficulty? The people who work in service related jobs including, restaurants, hotels, airline employees, rental car agencies and so on all have trouble getting to work. Many all of a sudden call in sick. Do you really want to be stranded in these conditions?
Check and double check you departure point and destination before leaving.
May You Enjoy Prosperous Health, Happiness and Wealth
