Once In Awhile It All Works Even Better Than Planned

30 December 2006

The Friday before the New Year’s weekend is a heavy travel day if you are trying to get back to Tampa Florida. In fact from about Thanksgiving until May travel to Florida needs to be carefully planned. No surprise that people from the North like going South.

Several weeks ago I tried to get a decent rate on a flight from Philadelphia to Tampa. Southwest was booked and US Air only had a few seats in coach and they were nearly as expensive as first class. So I booked a first class seat and forgot about it. Thursday I went to retrieve my boarding pass (ALWAYS RETRIEVE YOUR BOARDING PASS ON LINE THE DAY BEFORE YOUR FLIGHT) and was pleasantly reminded I had my favorite seat on the plane.

The weather in Philly was perfect, the lines through security were very short and my plane was scheduled to leave on time. It not only left on time but the plane left the airport faster than normal and we landed in Tampa 30 minutes early. No screaming people, no people with obvious colds or flus. Just a quiet relaxing flight. How marvelous.

Be well and prosper,
