You probably already know all liquids and gels you plan to carry on must be 3oz or less and fit into a quart sized plastic bag. I recommend visiting www.tsa.gov for more information and and example of the packaging allowed.

There still is confusion at the security check points on these rules. What I am now doing is carrying a copy of the rules and extra declaration pages for my contact lens solution. One of these days more staff will be trained on these apparently complex rules. In the meantime, know the rules and be prepared.
